Meet with the Economic Development Director. La Grange EDC meets quarterly on an annual basis at 5:30pm. in the La Grange City Council Chambers located at 155 E. Colorado Street. Provide proposal materials at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting at which the proposal will be presented. Provide eleven copies and one original of all proposal materials. La Grange EDC meets and considers proposal. At this meeting the board may refer the proposal to an EDC Funding Committee to discuss and/or consider action and /or approval of the proposal for recommendation back to the La Grange EDC. The La Grange EDC may request additional information and continue discussion of the proposal at the next meeting. The sixty day waiting period begins the first day of published date of public hearing. Sixty days must pass before funds from the La Grange EDC can be made available. The Public Hearing must be advertised in the local Newspapers. (Allow two weeks usually after the EDC meeting where board votes to hold public hearing) Public hearing (generally held before a City Council Meeting) La Grange EDC considers proposal at next meeting and may vote to recommend it for funding to the La Grange City Council, may offer an alternative to the proposal author, may delay action to receive further information, may determine not to fund proposal, may take other action as appropriate. Upon formal recommendation of the La Grange EDC to fund proposal, it will be placed on the City Council Agenda. The City Council meets the 2nd, and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:00 pm. City Council takes action on proposal. A minimum of sixty days must pass from the notice date of the public hearing to actual dispersal of funds from the La Grange EDC. Throughout this process the Economic Development Director is available to answer questions and provide assistance.
